Book Review: Seers

For Kate Bennet, surviving the car wreck that killed her parents means big changes and even bigger problems. As she begins to see auras and invisible people, Kate must learn to trust Patrick O'Donnell, a handsome Guardian, or risk her life being overrun with Demons. She soon realizes that both she and her heart are in big-time trouble.

REVIEW:
I would describe Seers as something old but fresh. Guardians, demons and girls which are important for them are all in trend lately. But that doesn't mean a story following those ideas can't offer something new. Seers is just a light and easy to be read book. I didn't even notice how the time passed. It was fun and adventurous. And even though they were times, that reminded me of Angelfire i can almost say that i enjoyed it more. It was serious but at the same time it felt more real to what we see around us.

I think what made the book that good was the people who around our heroine Kate. She has a best friend, who actually acts as a best friend. She is not there just to discuss the boy but for everything her friend would ask. Her boyfriend is actually a great guy. You can't hate him. He is caring and tries to be there for her even their problems. Her family is not absent from the book either. There are scenes just for Kate having fun with her sister or grandparents. Talking with them about their problems, etc. So when the books lacks originality, it's full of what a character really needs. It feels right.

As for the two boys in her life i wouldn't call this a triangle. Kate is not attracted to her boyfriend anymore, but as i said above he tries to please her and he is such a good guy and she just tries to save her relationship. And the nice thing is, that her guardian Patrick can see that and despite his feeling, tried to not interfere either. See! No bad guys, no fighting but still such enjoyable "triangle" to read.

Seers won't be your best and most original novel ever, but i believe it will leave you with a smile in the end. So check, one more recommendation from me.
