Avalon High - Cadet Kelly - Revenge of the Bridemaids Reviews

As the clumsiest, most clueless cadet to enter George Washington Military Academy, Kelly seems to be fighting an uphill battle to fit in. But it's all out-out war when she butts heads with Cadet Captain Stone, a tough-as-nails, by-the-book "commanding officer" determined to break her spirit.

REVIEW:
I found this movie by mistake while i thought i have watch all the old movie from Hilary Duff. The movie is the usual new girl to school, famous girl don't like ,etc. But it has a difference with the military school and all. It was an okay movie. After some time,i thought it was going too slow and i get bored though. Not the best acting from Duff.

Avalon High, I was starting to think, might not be so bad after all.
Maybe it's not where Ellie wants to be, but if you have to start at a new school, Avalon High is typical enough: There's Lance, the jock. Jennifer, the cheerleader. And Will, senior class president, quarterback, and all-around good guy.
But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be . . . not even, as Ellie is about to discover, herself. As a bizarre drama begins to unfold, Ellie has to wonder, what part does she play in all this? Do the coincidences she's piecing together really mean—as in King Arthur's court—that tragedy is fast approaching for her new friends?
Ellie doesn't know if she can do anything to stop the coming trouble. But somehow, she knows she has to try.

REVIEW:
The movie is based on the book of Meg Cabbot. I have to say, it was a nice change from the usual TV Disney movies. It has some fantasy and magic and some mystery, except the usual love story. I believe they would have done a better job with it if they wanted. Almost all the actors were new to me but pretty much they were good. The last part of the movie was a bit messed up and i lost my interest but it was cool for one time watch.

When Abigail and Parker return from New York City to visit their home town, they discover that their best friend Rachel is a bridesmaid in the wedding of their childhood friend, Caitlyn, and Tony, who was Rachel's boyfriend until Caitlyn interfered. Abigail and Parker decide to run some interference of their own. They manipulate Caitlyn and become bridesmaids as well so that they and Rachel can sabotage the wedding from the inside. With help from a police detective who happens to be a groomsman, the girls strive to ruin Caitlyn's wedding while dodging her controlling mother and hopefully reuniting Tony and Rachel.

REVIEW:

Now that was good! It was so much fun! A well made movie, almost for cinemas with good acting and interesting-funny plot. I loved how they tried to sabotage the marriage and how they would have done anything from their friends. And for once i liked, that not everyone believed that bride was all innocent til the end! It had some reality in it. And at the same time was cute and romantic. I can easily re-watch it anytime.

Almost To Die For Review

Twilight meets The Princess Diaries in the new series from the author of Honeymoon of the Dead On her sixteenth birthday, Anastasija Parker learns that her so-called deadbeat dad is actually a vampire king. And he wants Ana to assume her rightful position at his side, in spite of the fact that she has witch's blood running through her veins-from her mother's side.
Too bad witches and vampires are mortal enemies. And now Ana's parents are at each other's throats over her future. It's up to Ana to make a choice, but deciding your eternal destiny is a pretty big deal for a girl who just wants to get through high school.

REVIEW:
For starters i need some time to laugh at the first sentence of the summary. "Princess Diaries"....yeah like no way. It has the idea of "simple girl turn to princess" but that's all. Not the magic of Princess Diaries. It was more interesting than Twilight though.

While the book starts pretty much good and okay, with the time it becoming confusing and with no real purpose. It has vampires to be all strong and mighty, but one human with no real talent sneak up on them more than once. The writer can't seem to decide what she wants for her character. She is in and out in her old and new life all the time. And i can accept that but not that fast. It was going so fast, that you didn't even have time to release how the new environment was.

The story really had potential. It was clever and i liked the idea, but it was not written nicely. It made me bored from the very first pages, and it make predictable when it could have some really good twists. And as at the start i liked the main character, at the end i came to hate her since she was once again one of the those characters who just like to play with boys but at the same time are playing it naive and all.

Can't say i enjoy it. It was just a read, and in some years i will probably don't even remember that i've read that book.

Guild Wars: Edge Of Destiny Review

Destiny Called - They Answered

In the dark recesses of Tyria, elder dragons have awoken from millennial slumbers. First came Primordus, which stirred in the Depths forcing the asura to flee to the surface. Half a century later, Jormag awoke and drove the norn from the frozen climes of the Northern Shiverpeaks, corrupting sons and brothers along the way. A generation later, Zhaitan arose in a cataclysmic event that reshaped a continent and flooded the capital of the human nation of Kryta.

The races of Tyria stand on the edge of destiny. Heroes have battled against dragon minions, only to be corrupted into service of the enemy. Armies have marched on the dragons and been swep aside. The dwarves sacrificed their entire race to defeat a single dragon champion. The age of mortals may soon be over.

This is a time for heroes. While the races of Tyria stand apart, six heroic individuals will come together to fight for their people: Eir, the norn huntress with the soul of an artist; Snaff, the asuran genius, and his ambitious assistant Zojja; Rytlock, the ferocious charr warrior in exile; Caithe, a deadly sylvari with deep secrets; and Logan, the valiant human guardian dealing with divided loyalties. Together they become Destiny’s Edge. Together they answer the call. But will it be enough?
Review:
Ok, i will be honest. I had really low expectations from this book, since it is based on a game. To be honest I am rather defensive when it comes from movies that are based on games, and even more at books that are based on movies (Imagine when warcraft comes out, a movie based on a game and book...Yikes) I was surprised. The book was actually very good! The writing was nice and fluid, with enough detail to have a perfect idea of what is going on without being confusing. The action scenes are amazing, intense, fast paced and pretty cool overall. As for the plot of the story, it was also a pleasant surprise. Although more or less you know what is going on (the whole game-based thing) it still manages to maintain a rather interesting story, explaining all bits that require knowledge of the game story, making it an easy read even for someone who had no idea what the hell is Guild Wars. The story by itself was easy going, not particularly surprising but not boring either. I rather enjoyed the book, and i could not let it go until i had finished reading it. I recommend it to everyone that enjoys fantasy novels

The King's Speech Review

After the death of his father King George V (Michael Gambon) and the scandalous abdication of Prince Edward VII's (Guy Pearce), Bertie (Colin Firth) who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England. With his country on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, his wife, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), the future Queen Mother, arranges for her husband to see an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). After a rough start, the two delve into an unorthodox course of treatment and eventually form an unbreakable bond. With the support of Logue, his family, his government and Winston Churchill (Timothy Spall), the King will overcome his stammer and deliver a radio-address that inspires his people and unites them in battle. Based on the true story of King George VI, The King's Speech follows the Royal Monarch's quest to find his voice.

The multi-award-winning cast includes Helena Bonham Carter (Alice In Wonderland) as Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Guy Pearce (The Hurt Locker), Derek Jacobi (The Golden Compass), Timothy Spall (The Damned United) and Michael Gambon (Harry Potter)

REVIEW:
Do you see the names on that poster? Do you see those 5 stars? Did you heard that this movie is leading many award shows this year? I have one comment for all those. It totally deserves them. It was a fantastic movie!

I know the fans of action, etc will probably don't like it but let me tell you something. It's really long time since i have seen a movie with such great messages, perfect acting, amazing cinematography. If anyone even doubted Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, Bonham Carter, Timothy Spall or Michael Gambon as actors, then they should definitely watch it. I have used Helena Bonham Carter in weird roles (Bellatrix or at Sween Tood) and it was a pleasant surprise to see her in something more different and mature. Same for Geoffrey Rush, who in most people's mind exist like Captain Barbossa. Colin Firth was always perfect in his job, and same is one more time.

Except all that, i really loved the story. I didn't know anything about it and it really amused me. How a person fights its fear so to do something great and how the people see that person and gain power when finally overcome the difficulties. How a commoner can be friend with king.

From the trailer itself you can see, how promising as a film is.
