We Listen : Christmas Songs

Since it's almost Christmas ( ….but I have to admit that I wanted to do this from last week.... ) I made the most wonderful, the most extraordinary, the most fabulous Christmas collection you have ever listened !

Christmas is my favorite time of the year, I love everything that has to do with x-mas, the snow ( it haven't snowed in Athens ), the x-mas tree ( I have mine since November ), the presents ( hope to get as many as possible ), the songs ( as you can see ), the decorations in the streets ( I have a glowing star in my balcony ) , Santa Claous and everything else.

Christmas means a different thing to different people, for me it's all about love and warmth. At x-mas we are more sensitive about the others, so this x-mas we all should do something nice to make the people close to us smile.

From SplashOfOurWorlds (yiota, nina, jonny, athanasia), may this x-mas bring you a lot of happiness and health and you have the best time of your lives ! (you can start having fun with my We Listen XD).

12 days of Christmas so 12 songs + 1 !

1.
Shake up Christmas, Train, one of the best x-mas songs I have ever listened, makes my mood, can't stop listening it
2. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, a classic one, just perfect
(check this out it's hilarious)
3. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town, makes your mood
4. Jingle bell rock, one of my favorites, reminds me of "Home Alone"
5. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, love that song, it's so cute (they never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games)
7. All i want for christmas is you, a good one too
8. Oh santa, Mariah Carey, it's actually a nice song
9. Blue Christmas- Elvis Presley
10. Silent night
11. We wish you a merry christmas

.....and..... the 13th : Christmas tree, lady gaga, I know, I know I shouldn't have done that but I really like this song lol

Series We Loved : Heroes

The plot of Heroes is designed to be similar to the stories of comic books with small story arcs built into the series' larger story arc plot. Each season of Heroes is designed to involve ordinary people who discover extraordinary super powers, and how these abilities take effect in the character's daily lives.
The first season, known as "Genesis", begins as a seemingly ordinary group of people gradually becomes aware that they have special abilities. Events illustrate their reactions to these powers, and how the discovery affects their personal and professional lives. At the same time, several ordinary individuals are investigating the origins and extent of these abilities. Mohinder continues his late father's research into the biological source of the change, while Noah represents a secret organization known only as "The Company". While coping with these new abilities, each of the characters is drawn, willingly or unwillingly, into the Company's conspiracy to control superpowered people and into a race to stop an explosion from destroying New York City. .....continue reading

Why we loved it?
It wasn't much of an wow plot for all seasons, the usual kill the bad guy - don't let humans learn about our existence, but it was so well presented starting with following the the stories of the characters and then somewhere connect to each other. I loved how at the end of each season we had all the characters working together to beat the bad guy. Though most of the times the bad guy was Syler...and well he is not dying easily. The show had a bit of everything, and such a big variety of characters that everyone could pick someone to love. They also didn't afraid to kill some of them and make fans go crazy about it. The actors were all really talented and fit so well in it. Most people know them for those roles.
It's really sad it ended. I know it was running for 4 full seasons but they didn't even give it a proper ending. They made you though it will go on and then nothing. They even cancelled the movie which supposed to end the things.
Heroes is also available in graphic novels and some web episodes.

"Save the cheerleader, save the world!" XD

Games/Books that SHOULD be movie! #10: Old Magic

His name is Jarrod Thomton. He has blond-red hair to his shoulders, nice skin and green eyes like fiery emeralds; but this is not why I can't drug my eyes of him. There's something else. Something disturbing....
Kate is at a loss. She meets a boy with extraordinary powers and a bizarre family history that can be traced back to the Middle Ages. But Jarrod doesn't believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has supernatural powers that need to be hamessed, he doesn't take her seriously, and only puts up with her "hocus pocus" notions he finds her captivating.
However, the dangerous, uncontrolled strengthening of his gift finally convinces Jarrod that he must take Kate's theories seriously. Together, they emback on a remarkable journey-one which will unravel the mustery that has hung over Jarrod's family for generations and finds them pitted against immence forces in a battle to undo the past and reshape the future.

Why It Should Be A Movie: Well, it has a great plot and it's a shame to go wasted. It doesn't have vampires or other weird creatures, except a shape-shifter, but he's the bad guy and he is actually a wizard. The book descrides only pure magic and some element control which are the most common things you can find in other books or films. Also, there is a time travelling and I am very curious about the dresses and the castles. Last but not least, the village where the two main characters live. As the book says, Kate leaves somewhere in the forest and there is a cafe where all kids hang out which has an exraordinary decoration.

Cast: There are not all of them here, but I'll tell you why I picked them.

Kate: Alexis Bledel (the first actress that popped into my head when I read how Kate looks like)

Jarrod: Rupert Grint (he is exactly the same the book says)

Jillian: Helen Miller (she looks great for it)

Lord Richard: Henry Cavill (he is not that old, but he played a Middle Age role before and he looks perfect)

Isabel: Joely Richardson (a little bit younger, would be great, but she has the appropriate attitude)

Rhank: Adrien Brody (the guy supposed to transform into a hawk, and he looks like one, with the nice meaning, of course)

That's it people. If you want you can check out the review about Old Magic, the book somewhere in this blog. If you agree with me or not, please let me know. Oh! By the way, this is the first Should Be movie I write.

Crusade Review

For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.
Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated — and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.
Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself — and her heart.

REVIEW:
Seriously can you say "no" to a book with a cover like that? It's fantastic! I know the we must not judge a book by its cover, but this one is really good. And lucky me, the book was the same good as it.

Now, imagine our world in a war. A war with the vampires. They are actually the controllers of the world and there are not much we can do to get free. They pass their lies to us so good, that your friends love them and wanna date them, your parents are either too blind to see the truth or either too afraid to admit that something was wrong. Even your family, will betray you just to feel safe for a while. Pretty bad, huh? But as always, the resistance exists. Hunters or simple people who try to get free again and hunt vampires. That's our story pretty much. Our main character is Jenn, a simple girl who just couldn't stand the lies around her and left to became a hunter. Now, after two years away has to go back to her family....and that doesn't turn out really good.

While our main character is Jenn, we actually see the story of all the characters in the book. At least most of them. You even get to see the background of one of the bad vampires. How she turned, what her plans are, etc. Along with Jenn is the rest team of the hunters: Antonio (who is the only good vampire so far, though he was a priest and the love story with Jenn is weird :p), Eriko (who is the Hunter, the best of her year - also drunk a bottle which gave her powers), Skye ( our little witch), Holger (our werewolf -i love that guy!), Jamie ( the guy who was training to hunt werewolves and vampires from a young age - he really wants to kill Antonio and Holger) and Father Juan ( the leader of the school and all.). As you see everyone is so different from each other. Same for their stories, the way they think, their actions, their characters. And you will get to know all of them in the book (backgrounds, fears, etc). The book is pretty big as you can imagine since you get to see so many of the story.

As for the writing and style? Amazing. It's really dark, well written and captivating. You are so into it, that when you stop you still have the images of that different world in your head. Thinking what you will do, if the world was like that?

I really loved the book. The characters were so well introduced and described. Same for the story and the environment. I don't believe it lacks something. It was one of the best this year. And surely can make you afraid of vampires once again.
