Movie Review: Wrath of the Titans

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) --the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)--is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Ramirez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

REVIEW:
So me and Filios sitting and searching for something to watch. I wanted something fun to laugh at, so here we are with Wrath of the Titans. Because we knew from the start how bad this movie will be, so the only way to watch it was to make fun at it.

Okay let's take away the special effects which are fantastic, and maybe the fighting sequences which were interesting because those were the only 2 good things.

The movie has nothing to do with greek history/mythology. They just took some of the names and put them in and tried to make something epic. For starters, it's predictable. That little wooden sword at the start..like we didn't know that his kid has something to do it with the whole thing at then, when every 5 mins he was saying "for my son" blah blah. Tsk...
I'm not even going to talk about character development. They also barely talk. They only say some things which sound "clever" or "fun".
If you are going to say, that is based on Greek mythology or whatever and placed in Greece since you are using our heroes, can you at least invent places or people with Greek names? I mean "the island of Cale?" seriously? Even "island of Kostas" will make more sense than that...I'm talking about really geographic places that don't even exist...no i'm talking about the constant desserts we DON'T have in Greece..but a place called "Tyren"...emm..what the hell?
Then we have the powers matter. It seems to me that Zeus was just bored. Because he can't beat up some simple monster soldiers but finally after someone drains pretty much all his power, he can fight and kick ass? o.O
Also what happened to the greek monsters a god knows...because if that thing at start was a chimera then i'm a unicorn.
It's not just me seeing a huge difference here right?
And what about the evil titan Kronos? Did they copy paste him from the Tekken movie? Though Kronos was pretty much useless next to Heihachi's epic final boss.

Eh.What Ralph Phienes, Liam Neeson and Bill Nighy are doing in this movie, i have no idea...no just no. Stay away from it. Except if you are like us and you want to see something funny.

Also good writers....when you write TITANS at the main title. Plural. Many. More than one. You don't just put ONE titan in. It has an "s" in the end. Just saying...you can't get straight even your own title?

  1. I felt very dissappointed with this movie. Clash of Titans had previously seen and was pretty beautifully rendered. Wrath of the Titans wasn't!

    It was terrible.

    Andromeda just didn't seem right.
And the character development was awful.

  4. Ok.This is a very nice review! You mentioned just the right things about this movie! But for me the most annoying thing was the places. They didn't even try to look at our country's map to put actually some real places.pfff.

Also there was another good thing about the movie! It gave us plenty of laughter!!!It was hillarious!!:P

  5. It’s too bad the Wrath of the Titans wasn’t a good movie. Many of my friends and Dish coworkers have mixed feelings about the movie. From what I’ve heard, I don’t think I’ll be buying the movie. However, I would still like to rent the movie just to I can form my own thoughts about it. I’ve added Wrath of the Titans to my Blockbuster @Home queue, and since special effects are the strong point of the movie, I’ll get it on Blu-Ray. At least I’ll have an idea of what to expect! Thanks for the heads up!
