REVIEW:
Yay for time travel! There are many reasons (mostly the story and the cast) i like this movie so let's see where i begin...
Firstly, the story. I don't mean just the time travel thing, the mystery of the lost diamonds or the ghosts but also what was laying behind. How a black boy become part of a family and how for we must not criticize people of what color they are and etc.As for a blind girl the color of person doesn't mean anything, that is the way would should think too.
Then we have the casting. Oh what an amazing job they all did! They fitted perfectly in their roles and they were one with them. Maggie Smith is by far one of my favorites actress ever! She has the granny role in her! Of course the rest cast was amazing too but i enjoyed her scenes more. It was so funny when the kid comes to her and he is like "ermmm..gran..i need to tell you something" with a really awkward expression in his face and she is "yes of course". So he asks her "do you believe in ghosts?" waiting to laugh at his face and she replies a simple and astonished "what? you don't?". <3
Of course is period movie so if you are not into that kind of things you might not enjoyed it that much. But it's really good family movie. I think it's also based on a book so you can also read it! I know there are many people who like time travel stories.
Cast: Maggie Smith (Harry Potter Series), Alex Etel (Water Horse), Timothy Spall (Harry Potter Series), Dominic West (300), Eliza Bennett (Inkheart), Hugh Boneville (Downton Abbey), Allen Leezh (Downton Abbey)
I have this movie on my to-watch list. I am glad to hear that everything about this movie - from the story to the cast- is amazing! I agree about Maggie Smith - what a fantastic actress! Have you watched her in Downton Abbey?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!
I haven't watched this one yet but so far the best time travel stories are in "Doctor Who" and "Back to the Future". I will see if this one stands up to those legends.
