Book Review: Until Next Time

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.

REVIEW:
Angels eh? A theme overused the year that passed but does Until Next Time stand out? I believe yes.

For starters, i have to mention the amazing beginning of the book. The prologue is both the start and the middle of the story and it got me excited immediately. It's both a little spoilery (enough to make you wondering about it but not giving you away a lot either) and a good introduction on who the characters are. So yay for an awesome start!

Matt and Emily are angels who their work is to live different lives at earth and help the people. And their first life is back in 1810. That was an interesting placement for me since i was expecting them to be in our years and i do have a thing for those old times. So their adventure starts, and both of them find difficult to adjust on what they are doing, especially when they don't even remember each other. Another great surprise here!

Now you see, the concept of Angels getting into humans to help them or for a special mission is not something new to me but it was still different. The fact they are going back home when needed and even talk with their teachers and see each other, gives a unique feeling to the book. It's like a good break with explanations between all the events. I will admit when this happened at start, it was confusing to going back and down again. After some chapters i got used to it though, and i enjoyed it.

If i have something that bothered me that would be how "recent" the book feels. Even though we are at 1810, the characters are acting more like in our days than back then. The girls alone are too free and open minded. Even the way they talked, feel out of time. And at times i was totally forgetting in which period i actually am.

In general i can say it was a quite interesting read, and definitely worth its time.
