Happythankyoumoreplease, Movie Review

A story of relationships, deals with the struggles facing several pairs trying to find their way. The film centers on Sam and Rasheen, a writer and foster care child who meet when Rasheen is abadoned on the subway. Through this story we learn of Sam's best friend Annie, an Alopecia patient trying to find a reason to be loved, his cousin Mary Catherine and her boyfriend Charlie, a couple facing the prospect of leaving New York, and Mississippi, a waitress/singer trying to make it in the Big Apple.

REVIEW:
Yes, the title is the way you see it. I'm not tricking you somehow to force you read my review. But the title is really tricky, because it made me want to watch the movie. Well, this and the cast, of course.

I've only seen Josh Radnor in How I Met Your Mother, one of the series I really like, but in this movie, apart from being the lead actor, he also serves as a writer and a director. I liked the way he shows New York as a city, and not as the melodramatic way we mostly see it, with the big number of the people walking on the streets and the high number of crimes.
Malin Akerman is one of those actress who I've seen in many different roles and always goes unnoticed, because she's really good in every role, such as this one.
Michael Algieri is the young boy that change Sam's life. He's really quiet and calm with the whole process of pulling him around places like nothing's happened. And he helps Sam talk for the first time to Mississippi.
Kate Mara is one one of the actress that stuck into my head from the first time I saw her, which was in Zoom. For some reason I really like her in everything she does, and this role wasn't an exception.
There are also other actors staring, who, I believe, they all were good in their roles.

Bottom line, I liked the movie, the way the people were leaving and how they all were searching for love and happiness. I'm not sure to whom I sould recommend this movie, maybe to those who like comedy dramas. As for the rest it depends on your mood, but I'm pretty sure that among the characters you will find parts of yourself, since they all are simple people.

P.S.1 I think that Josh Radnor, even though he looked like Ted, is really good both as writer and director and he did a great job for his first time. So, basically, this is one of reasons that made me want to watch the movie.
P.S.2. If you wonder about the title, don't be. There is an explanation about it somewhere on the movie.

  3. i have mixed feelings from this movie. i liked all the actors and the story was good, but it lacked a lot as a movie. the story was not "complete" and the characters had no depth, i would like to know more about them and more about their story, maybe if it focused in two couples it would be better, meaning they would be presented more accurately. generally as a movie it made me think but also made me feel depressed, i think it is more of a drama.. bottom line i am not sure if i recommend it as a movie, but i recommend it as a point of view...
