Temple Grandin Review

Biopic of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcame the limitations imposed on her by her condition to become an expert in the field of animal husbandry. She developed an interest in cattle early in life while spending time at her Aunt and Uncle's ranch. She did not speak until age four and had difficulty right through high school, mostly in dealing with people. Her mother was very supportive as were some of her teachers. She is noted for creating her 'hug box', widely recognized today as a way of relieving stress and her humane design for the treatment of cattle in processing plants, even winning an award from PETA. Today, she is a professor at Colorado State University.

REVIEW:
I don't know how many of you watch movies about famous people or events, but once in a while i try them. The fact that they are a lot like documentaries make them sometimes a bit boring for me. I remember while i was watching Aviator i fall asleep. Anyway, Temple Grandin is another movie like that as you have already see from the storyline above.

The thing with this one is that i really liked it. It got me interested. The way everyone was treating her cause she was an autistic and how she was thinking, how her mother stand next to her no matter what and helped her through her problems was admirable. Imagine that she didn't let her mother touch her for 20 years, maybe more. Is a good biography movie with plenty messages for everyone except Temple's interesting life and achievements.
In many cases is slow, but later you see why every scene exists and how it's important if you want to understand her.

As for the actors, i have to say they did a pretty good job with it. The fact i have connected Claire Danes with her role as Yvainne in Stardust, but still i totally forgot about that connection while watching the movie, can make you understand how careful and well done was made. The directors, actors and the writers managed to get you into Temple's mind.

Other cast members: Julia Ormond ( The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ), David Strathairn ( The Uninvited, Structure), Catherine O'Hara ( Home Alone I-II, Nightmare Before Christmas)
