Book Review: Bloodlines

The first book in Richelle Mead's brand-new teen fiction series - set in the same world as Vampire Academy.

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

REVIEW:
Finally i get to review Bloodlines! It's some time now i've read it ^^ Now, i need to mention how much i wanted the edition with the UK cover but i couldn't find anywhere so i bought the one above....sniff...

Anyway, another VA book eh? I know i was excited like crazy! I love Richelle's Mead writing style and how easy you connect with the characters. How her books are dark and funny, with lots of action but some romance too. Excitement and twists! A nice mix of everything, and Bloodlines it's exactly like that (just a bit funnier)!

I've read many reviews before i got to read the book, and many people said it could be better and Sydney is nothing next to Rose and she is boring and blah blah....really guys? Sydney is an entirely different character, what did you expect? Yes, she is not the kick ass heroine Rose was and she is a little coward at some points but to tell the truth i prefer her. Why? Because it's closer to reality. I could see myself in her and connect with her a lot better. She is down to earth and i believe she sees her mistakes and she is even more clever than Rose. She has her own nice parts.
Plus, in the book we have Adrian and Eddie. I know most people are Team Dimitri but i'm not, so the book was like a paradise for me. Adrian scenes were priceless! The guy is amazing and he finally gets some real page time!! Also, Jill is nice addition and she is such a cute character to meet.I prefer her to Lissa as well.

The book has its action in a different level. I liked how we get to see for once the human world. For 6 books we lived with vampires so it was a nice change. And "vampire slayers"? I'm getting excited here! It was pretty much a normal book in excitement and curiosity but there were times i was like "niceee...i see what you did there^^".....and of course at the last sentence...oh...i started laughing evilly and i was "YES! MOUAHAHAHA!"...

So yes, Bloodlines...i loved it! It's not Vampire Academy but at the same time it is. Easier, different and lighter than VA but magnifique!
When i finished i just wanted to re-read it immediately which is something that has month to happen. Too bad i have a huge TBR and i had to say no to myself.

  1. Ok, so, I totally want to read this one, I like the fact that it's different on its own way.... But I have to finish the Vampire Academy first, and I'm stuck waiting for the 6th book to be published in greek....Thnx for the review, really nice....

  2. When I saw this review I just had to-read. Bloodlines sounds great and just felt sad when Last Sacrifice ended.
