TV Series Review: Warehouse 13 (Season 3)

After saving the life of the President, two Secret Service agents find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13 -- a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government. The Warehouse's caretaker Artie (Saul Rubinek) charges Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse, itself.

REVIEW:
Another season had ended and now we need to wait until next summer again :( I wish they could at least order full season to the summer series :/

Anyway, Johnny have previously reviewed Warehouse 13 first seasons and i can tell you it's one of our favorites. From the time we started watching, we became obsessed with the show.
Now, when Season 2 ended we saw Myka leaving Warehouse 13, and you can understand what that did to our nerves. So, Season 3 starts with clarifing the part of if Myka is back or not which i believe wasn't much a surprise at the end. The team also get a new Warehouse agent, Steve which has a unique ability to understand when someone lies. The main plot is someone who uses artifacts to do bad things to people or the warehouse.

What was different with the previous season (well except the part the series were even more funny) it's hot the plot was played out. We barely had situations with artifacts not connected with the main plot. Like only 1-2 episodes. There was also the part were the series except funnier became and more serious. Especially the final episodes had many dramatic moments, some serious revelations, a darker side of the Warehouse and the Regents and many deaths which is something we are not really used to.

For the acting i can't say much. I love how it feels everyone is exactly the person who portrayed and not just a role. Sometimes it feels like you actually see their real lives. Aaron Ashmore was also a nice addition and interesting to see him acting again (last time i've seen was at the X-Men movies). We do see a lot less of Mrs Frederick though, which was kinda sad because she is awesome and creepy. For the ones who liked H.G.Wells we still get see her around even if she is being punished for what she did at Season 2. I think it's nice to have so many different people on and you always get to connect with one of them.

Lastly, they were various guest stars as always and even some old characters. Favorite moment was of course, the crossover episode with Eureka where Fargo finds an artifact and creates a live Role Play game where everyone has to get in, play and save him :P

If you haven't seen the series and you are into something supernatural-ish, funny, geeky and with lots of action i totally recommend them. I don't know someone who didn't like them!! You have about 9 months to finish before the next season. For those who already, followed the series i hope you enjoyed them as much as i did ^^

Warehouse 13 has re-newed for a 4th Season. It's 12 episodes series with 40 mins each episode.

  1. Extremly good series although i tend to wonder how can someone actually "make" an artifact...and since most of the thinks that they find can be explained scientificly...why are those called artifacts and not inventions...Still awesome show!

P.S. i want that game that Fargo and those two guys invented:P :P :P

  2. @Minion: I think most of the artifacts can't be explained scienifically, they know what they do but they have no idea how they do it...
And yes I think the best episodes are those that Fargo is in :D

  3. @Silvestro Not true!I mean most of the time we see Claudia making some new gadgets from combining staff from the warehouse and she can even modify the farnsworths -or how the heck that device they use to communicate is called!- so in some cases they seem to be able to understand how an artifact works and even alternate it...like that time with the 2 cameras that brought everything that was displayed at the tv screen to file and claudia managed to fix one of those

  4. @Minion: If you notice every time she creates or modifies something she uses an artifact as the base, she can't create an artifact from scratch because she doesn't know how exactly it works. The artifacts are a mix of technology and supernatural power, she can understand and even recreate the technology part but she can't touch the supernatural part.
