Author Interview: Dr. Laurence Brown

I recently recieved a copy of Eighth Scroll by Dr. Laurence Brown for review and accompanied with it, thanks to Jeff Rivera of Gatekeepers Post, we get an interview from the author too. Unfortuannetelly we didn't get the chance to ask something more except the ready questions the author had, since Dr. Brown is currently in Middle East working on his next novel. Anyway, it's an interesting look on him and his book so take a look ;)

Are you concerned that Catholics will be up in arms because of your portrayal of the
Vatican?

Many Catholics are themselves critical of the Vatican. Sure, some Catholics
will react negatively to what I have written, but that is to be expected. Truth hurts.
What I would like to see is not emotional outbursts regarding my assertions, but calm,
educated refutation. I submitted my work to the Vatican and to both archbishops of
the Church of England five or six years ago, and invited their criticism. In every case
they declined to comment. Silence, in the arena of theology, is tantamount to assent.

Your book seems like it would have a great sequel. Have you thought about writing
one?

Many times. However, I have so many “fresh” stories I want to write that I
haven’t gotten around to drafting a sequel. But the idea is definitely on my mind.

You have a lot of death in this incredible novel. Why?

Death happens. Most of us live fairly sheltered lives, but as a doctor, I have
known a number of people who experienced a great amount of tragedy and death.
When you start to work with a multigenerational storyline that drags the Mossad, the
CIA and the Italian mafia into the drama, expect to find a few bloodied bodies on the
sidewalk in the morning.

Where can we get a copy of your book?

You can find The Eighth Scroll for sale on Amazon by clicking HERE.

The Eighth Scroll
Stirring the flames of age-old controversies, The Eighth Scroll by Laurence B. Brown draws on the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to create an unbelievably dynamic and powerful story. Set in a world that teeters between orthodoxy and heresy, this thriller is packed with intrigue and adventure. When a Roman Catholic scholar involved in the Dead Sea Scrolls Project hides one of the scrolls because of the heretical message it contains, no one is the wiser until decades later, when a prominent archeologist discovers reference to the scroll in an archeological dig. This discovery spurs the world religions into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, in which all who seek the hidden scroll are mysteriously silenced, leaving the salvation of humankind to a father and son, who must either find the hidden scroll . . . or die trying.
