The Cursed Crusade : PC Game Review

Set against the backdrop of the Old World, two adventurers--both seasoned warriors--will quest across a Western Europe ablaze with the turmoil of a newly begun Fourth Crusade. Denz, a holy Templar, and Esteban, a roguish mercenary, may have different origins, but their motivations are the same amidst the danger and despair of a new Crusade, to find the means to deliver themselves from a terrible curse that threatens to consume their immortal souls.

Review:

What is better than a cheating, double-crossing, backstabbing, thieving and lying rogue ? What else ? A cheating, double-crossing, backstabbing, thieving, lying, half-demon and crusader rogue with dual long swords :D

Gameplay: This game had endless hack and slash moments where I was feeling like I just killed a whole army by myself, and what made it even better was that my armor was slowly breaking down and droping on the floor by the enemy hits and at the same time my swords were getting beat up by the whole slashing and the collisions with the enemy armors and at some points they were breaking down and I was forced to fight with only the hilts and my kicks :D
As you can see the whole gameplay in this game is about fighting, and they have ascended medieval fighting in a whole new level. And to boot that you get a bunch of DEMONIC POWERS !!! And I didn't even mention that depending on the length of the combo ( combos are how many hits you landed before getting hit or some time out of battle passes ) a title is given to you, not that you keep the title or has any affect on the game but it still kick ass to be called WAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIOOOOOOOOOOR or MUTILATOR ^^
Also if you have a gamepad and a volunteer you can play the game cooperative in split screen mode and slash endless waves of enemies with a pal of yours :D

Storyline: The story follows the quest of a templar and a rogue who are joined by fate and join the crusader army in order to reach Jerusalem and free themselves of the curse that have befallen their families. But the crusade army became a mercenary army as we know from our history lessons, so instead of redeeming themselves they were thrown deeper in the path to hell. It is a pretty interesting story and it is based on the historic truth about the 4th crusade, with some supernatural pinches to spice it up of course. The only bad thing about the story is that it ends on a cliff hanger :'(
Just as you are about to meet the evil mastermind and the person that is expected to solve every problem in the story the game ends... Why ? wtf ? You could end the story and introduce some greater evil for the sequel, you didn't have to cut the story at such a crucial point !!!

Graphics: The graphics are not really special, they are the standard action game graphics of these days. There are some interesting fire, blood and sparkle effects but nothing I haven't seen before. Now the cool thing here is the design and animation of the demons :D They rule. Especially the main heroes in their demonic form and the huge badass demons that the evil guy summons at the final stages.

Bottomline this game is very good at what it was aiming, fighting. And it is even better if you play it with a friend.
