Battle: Los Angeles Movie, Review

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world -- Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before.

REVIEW:
Battle: Los Angeles....a concept used so many times already. Aliens invading earth. They really need to come up with something new.
Anyways..the story starts with a fast sum up of how the aliens came to earth and now you follow the last team placed in Los Angeles while they try to leave for a safe place. All of them are soldiers but as the story goes they found some survivors too.

The different with this one than the rest aliens movies is that you watch the story from military's POV. Even the survivors they found don't have big parts in the movie. They also put the camera moving a lot, like following a person fall or move. As confusing was at start i did mange to get used to it.
The acting was okay i guess. I was more interested at the background story of the characters since it made a weird connection between them than the story itself. I have to admit that at some point i get bored and i wished they all die and finish the movie.
The special effects of course were really good. I didn't expect any less. I like how they gave us an image of the aliens and didn't kept it secret til then end.

Also..i really need to mention this...Michelle Rodriguez doesn't die! All the movies of her i remember, she dies: Fast and Furious, Avatar, Resident Evil! It was an interesting surprise XD

I think the movie is something like 5/10. It does and doesn't deserve a watch at the same time.

Other cast: Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Ramon Rodriguez (Transformers 2),Bridget Moynahan (I,Robot), Joey King (Ramona & Beezus)

  3. i watched it.. it wasn't a really bad movie but not a good one too, the main actor was so fake, there was an "intense" scene between him and one of his marines and it was so funny, i laughed, not convincing at all.

i liked all the team, they were all great, but i was bored at some point too.

generally i wasn't impressed, the special effects were great and i liked the aliens, but the story missed something..
