eat pray love & get him to the greek : review

Eat Pray Love :

About:
Elizabeth Gilbert (Julia Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having - a husband (Billy Crudup), a house, a successful career - yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali.

Review: Eat, Pray, Love is one of the most boring movies I ever saw. It took me 5 days to finish it because I always stoped it. I really didn't like the story, it's about a woman who is married but not happy and after she decides to leave her husband, she makes tree trips, the first in Italy, the second in India and the third in Balli. She meets many people and makes friends and at the end ( what a surprise ) she finds love.. I think that Julia Roberts is a great actress, but she disappointed me in this movie. She was cold and dull, maybe it was the character too, Liz was depressed in almost the entire movie.. I was also left down by Javier Bardem,as Felipe, a man Liz falls in love with on her journey. Many women find him attractive and like his accent, but in this film in particular, he was very tiring and the love story with Liz ended to seam fake... I definitely don't recommend this movie, it's boring. Maybe if you want to have a good sleep, then try it!

Get Him to the Greek:

About:
Rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) releases an album and an accompanying single "African Child". The song and music video flops, is banned and called "the worst thing to happen to Africa since the apartheid" by NME. His girlfriend, Jackie Q (Rose Byrne), takes custody of their son, Naples, and leaves him; as a result, Aldous hits rock bottom by drinking and doing drugs excessively.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) works as a low-level talent scout at Pinnacle Records. He lives with his girlfriend, Daphne (Elisabeth Moss), a medical intern. Pinnacle Records is losing money, and the head of the company, Sergio Roma (Sean "Diddy" Combs), asks for ideas. Green proposes for Aldous Snow to play at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on the tenth anniversary of his legendary performance there. Sergio sends Aaron toLondon to escort Aldous to the performance. Before he leaves, Daphne informs Aaron that she has received a job offer in Seattle and that they are moving there, which leads to an argument resulting in an implied break-up.

Review: This movie is disgusting.. I mean it, it's totally inappropriate ! It's one of those classic American films ( that Jonah Hill plays ) that have sex, alcohol and wild party’s. The most funny thing in the movie is the music, the only reason to see this movie is for Aldous Snow's songs. There are no words to describe them, the funniest one, but in the same time the most disgusting is the “ The Clap”. I don't know if you remember Rose Byrne from Troy, well in this film she plays Jackie Q, Aldous ex-wife, she is VERY different, I always though of her as an respected actress and in this film she gets “wild” ! To sum up it's a funny, tragic movie. If you wanna have fun with your friends watch it but if you don't you're not gonna miss anything.

  3. Hey there, thanks for your comment on my Matilda review! I'm a huge Roald Dahl fan, bless his soul, so I was absolutely shocked when I realised after all this time I didn't have a copy of it. So I had to own a copy. :)

Nice reviews. Haven't watched either, just yet. But I'm interested in Eat Pray Love.
