series we loved : lost

About: The first season begins with a plane crash that strands the surviving passengers of Oceanic Airlines flight 815 on what seems to be a deserted tropical island, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. Their survival is immediately threatened by a number of mysterious entities, including polar bears, an unseen creature that roams the jungle (the "Monster"), and the island's malevolent, and largely unseen, inhabitants, known as "the Others". They also encounter a French woman named Danielle Rousseau who was shipwrecked on the island over 16 years earlier, and they find a mysterious metal hatch buried in the ground. While one group tries to force their way into the hatch, another attempts to leave the island on a raft that they have constructed. Meanwhile, flashbacks centered on individual survivors detail their lives prior to the plane crash.
The second season follows the growing conflict between the survivors and the Others, and continues the theme of the clash between faith and science, while resolving old mysteries and posing new ones. New characters are introduced, including the tail-section survivors (the "Tailies") and other island inhabitants. The hatch is revealed to be a research station built by the Dharma Initiative, a scientific research project that was conducting experiments on the island decades earlier. As the truth about the mysterious Others begins to unfold, one of the crash survivors betrays the other castaways, and the cause of the plane crash is revealed.

Review: Lost is one of my favorite shows ever. It has six seasons, the one better than the other. It ended in May 23, 2010 and I can't really say that it gave the answers we were all expecting. The first seasons really don't give you a clue about what is going on.. you just don't know where everything leads ! I remember when I started watching it that I thought that it was the first series that you have no idea not only what will happen next, but also what is happening now ! There have been many theories about it, in the end though I don't think any of them were true, i'm starting to believe that even the writers didn't know the ending when they started writing it! My favorite seasons were the first tree, because you have no idea what it's all about, so it's even more exiting. The next seasons were great too but I was somehow disappointed of the “Others” because they weren't what I expected them to be, or what the let me believe they would be. Lost is a very unique show, the selection of the characters couldn't be better, I liked most of the actors and even I didn't like some of them in the end I liked them all! My favorites are James "Sawyer" Ford, Desmond David Hume, Sayid Jarrah and John Locke. About the last season now, I liked it the least. At the beginning it was very confusing and at the end, well I didn't like the end.. Once again it left you with questions, they didn't answer everything and the thing that mostly strikes me is that they didn't even mention some mysteries from other seasons. Last but not least i liked a lot the music. To sum up Lost is a series that can't be repeated, it's one of my favorites and I definitely recommend it to all of you, even though I don't think there are many who haven't seen it already !

  1. Oh, I could go on and on about LOST. My favourites were James "Sawyer", Desmond, Faraday and John. It's a shame to see the series end. I don't believe we needed all the answers, because some things are just better left unanswered--if the producers had filled us all in, there would've been no time for any actual action, and some of the answers they DID disclose weren't all that exciting (such as the light...I don't know, didn't cut it for me) and left me a bit disappointed.

I love the beginnings; I love how diverse the cast of characters is; I love that there's so much packed into this series and there's a lot to draw from it. I love its little details, big explosions, dialogue, fast-paced and slow-paced scenes. The time travel threw me off for a bit, but eventually I just adjusted and while it was not exactly the same, my love for LOST continued. Every character arc--so well developed: they were REAL people with REAL problems, and under REAL circumstances in a totally unreal island: where electromagnetic activity reigns supreme, a black smoke monster prowls for unsuspecting victims, and so on.

I will never forget this show, and it's probably going to be one of those shows I'll take along for years and years, and my children (if i so choose to have children) will groan whenever I bring it up. It may not have been perfect, but it was one hell of a ride.

@misha: you have to watch lost ( and don't ask yiota because she hasn't seen it either! ) it's a great show, after you watch it you either became fanatic, or you.. i don't know, there is no possibility you wont like it ! XD

@Aylee: i don't wanna say anything about the finale because some may haven't seen it yet, but i'll say one thing : Walt was the perfect choise !!
