E-book Tours: The Emperor's Edge, Review

Imperial law enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon is good at her job: she can deter thieves and pacify thugs, if not with a blade, then by toppling an eight-foot pile of coffee canisters onto their heads. But when ravaged bodies show up on the waterfront, an arson covers up human sacrifices, and a powerful business coalition plots to kill the emperor, she feels a tad overwhelmed.

Worse, Sicarius, the empire's most notorious assassin is in town. He's tied in with the chaos somehow, but Amaranthe would be a fool to cross his path. Unfortunately, her superiors order her to hunt him down. Either they have an unprecedented belief in her skills... or someone wants her dead.

REVIEW:
Emperor's Edge is the second book from Lindsay Buroker i get the chance to read and for one more time i'm really happy with it. I actually i am more!

Set in the same world, and involving also Sicarius (a character previously seen at Encrypted), an amazing story again in your hands.Emperor's Edge takes place before Encrypted and even if i've the 2nd first i didn't have any problem since they are mostly stand alone stories.
Action, romance, mystery, magic, assasins, emperors, traitors, courage are just some of the things that you get to enjoy. The reason i liked more was cause i managed to get more in it from the very first page and i felt the characters and the story had more depth.

This time i really liked the main character Amaranthe! She was strong, caring and for sure when she had something in mind there was no way not to achieve it. Even if that meant to team with the best assassin alive. I loved how she thought through all her moves and she wasn't afraid to risk it sometimes, the way she managed to convince people without violence (even thought someone of her company sometimes managed to mess things with his kills) and how she stayed loyal to what she believed.
It was also nice to get to know a little more of Sicarius. I pretty much hated him at Emperor's Edge but i was totally Team Sicarius in this one!

You should totally give it a chance. It was an amazing adventure and i enjoyed every single page of it.

Stay tuned for an interview with Lindsay Buroker in the week.

  1. Thanks for the read and review! Yeah, Sicarius isn't exactly a warm fuzzy guy, but he's less the villain in this one. :)
