Crysis 2 Review

Crysis 2 is the sequel to one of the greatest PC first-person shooters yet created. Featuring futuristic war, gorgeous destruction and the chance to kick alien butt on the grandest stage of all, New York City, Crysis 2 is destined at the least to equal its predecessor, if not surpass it Additional features include: challenging AI enemies in the single player campaign, 12-player support online, new and improved upgradable Nanosuit 2 technology and more.

The world has been ravaged by a series of climatic disasters and society is on the verge of total breakdown. Now the aliens have returned, with a full invasion force bent on nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind, starting by trying to rip the heart out of Earth's most iconic city.
In New York, terrifying alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city's myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. The city's systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. This is New York City like you've never seen it before. Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen.
Yet one man will inherit that means to survive. One supersoldier, wielding the combat enhancement technology of the future with Nanosuit 2, will make the last stand to save humanity from destruction in the urban jungle that is New York City.

Review:

Is this thing working yet ? 1,2,1,2 testing... yes I thing it works. The electronics in here need a serious upgrade. Ok so this announcement is meant for the ears, and minds of course, of every millitary and security personel aboard the ship. I am happy to announce that your martial arts and custom weapons training are going pretty well and you are already showing results. Next you will be intensively trained in advanced nano-armor usage and battle scenarios about alien attacks. When those pink-blooded punks come here you will be prepared for them. And if anyone disclose top secret training information to the Professor he or she will be in dire trouble... Now read the objective parameters in your PDAs to get briefed about the mission. Secret Ops Commander out.

Story: Alliens attack the world from benith with buried spaceships and robots, I know a bit rip off from some hollywood movie. But this time the armor of the hero is the key to destroy all alliens on earth and save humanity. So Prophet, that I always want to call Morpheus for some reason, gives his armor to a dying marine in order to... I don't know I guess that's how you get a retirement in that world. This marine, Alcatraz (yes that's his name not his place of residence), tries to find a doctor, not M.D. I think some other kind of doctor, named Gould. Then a whole story of butchering enemy private commandos, that want to take the nano-armor, and allien invaders, that want to kill any earthling, start to unfold with Alcatraz in the middle of it. Nice story even if we have seen this kind of allien attack before.

Graphics: No need for me to get detailed about graphics, it's a Crysis game after all and we all know that Crysis games have the best graphics engine that has been invented so far.

Gameplay: Excelent targeting system and the addition of hotkeys to control the basic functions of the nano-armor is really useful for quick cloak and dagger attacks behind enemy lines. There were a few times that a certain bug was getting on my nerves but nothing serious, I just couldn't use melee attacks untill I died or finished the mission. The fact that I really didn't like was that I can't change the voice of the armor to a female one like in the first game but that is explained later in the game. If you wanna know before that point here it is: Prophet has transfered a part of his consiousness in the armor deep layers so he is the one talking to you the whole game. It would be a bit weird for Prophet to have a female voice :D

  1. I will try the new training program myself. However nanosuits lack something that sets a good soldier from a one man army one. Skill. I never use nanosuits myself, there is nothing like the plain badass instinct of the hunt. I am open to bioengineering though, feel free to mess up with our troops Shadow

  2. Bioengineering will be the next training in which I will submit our troops :D
And I really have no problem using whatever equipment I can get my hands on, it makes life easier and the fact about nano-armors is that they can be adapted to look like a normal communder suit ;)
