A fairytale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans and centered on a young girl named Tiana and her fateful kiss with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again.
REVIEW:
This is one of the latest animated cartoon of Disney. The reason I saw it was because it is Disney. No other reason actually.
What I liked was the feeling I got from the first picture. I felt like I was a little girl and I was watching it because I had just finished my homework. The plot and the whole fairytale were great. I liked the fact that they changed the original story and made something unique and original. The songs were more modern. They mostly used jazz songs, which was fine by me. And for the first the heroine was not only black, also fine by me, but not a princess.
About the characters: Facilier was creepy. He was a wizard, mean, manipulating and money lover. He also had the evil laugh we were talking about in previous post. Charlotte was selfish and spoiled, but she tried to help at some point. Ray was really good and kind and he just wanted to play trumpet among humans freely. Mama Odie was the best. She was funny and serious in the same time and willing to help without anything in exchange. As for Tiana and Naveen, they both learn from their mistakes and they fall in love. They were great.
Bottom line, I totally recommend you the movie. I loved it and it brought back lots of memories. And for those who saw it and didn't like it, let me just say, that you are older now and that you're not thinking like kids.
It was a good one but not as good as i expected.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of music was too much and i felt it was missing some of the magic from the original story.
I can't say i didn't enjoy it though.
I don't really like love stories, or fairy tales about them, but I really liked the description you made for the bad guy :D
ReplyDeleteYeah the bad guy was really creepy!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched this yet though it's on my long list of movies to watch. I have loved fairy tales since I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw it in the cinema I liked it, but this year when I saw the 50th Disney movie "Tangled" I found it much better than "Princess and the Frog" I have to say :) "The princess and the Frog" is fun but I like "Tangled" a lot more :D
